The Confluence: Pre-Order Campaign
Pre-order my new novel today, and I’ll send you some cool stuff, including an invitation to the digital launch party. Plus, I’ll think you’re really awesome, and you might just help out a local business when it needs it most.
I’ll admit I’ve been reluctant to write this post because, above all else, I hope you’re reading this safe and healthy. With everything going on in the world right now, it’s easy for anything not coronavirus-related to feel … trivial. Flat. But there are good things happening around us. There are reasons to celebrate, both large and small. And I want to share my good news with you (and give you a way to help out your local bookseller).
Pre-Order The Confluence, Get Cool Stuff!
Finally, after two years and hundreds of hours writing, revising, querying, editing … and dreaming, my new book is available for pre-order. While it doesn’t officially release until July 1, 2020, you can pre-order it today. Plus, if you email your pre-order confirmation/receipt to preorder@gregoryjosephs.com along with your mailing address, I’ll send you a gorgeous, custom bookmark the week before the book comes out.
And if you order from a local, independent bookstore? I’ll also send you a custom, signed bookplate to stick on the inside cover, display on your fridge, or anywhere you’d like. You’ll help a local business, you’ll help an author (me), and you’ll be among the first to get your hands on a dare-I-say awesome new book for your summer reading list.
Here’s What to Do:
Pre-Order from the Store of your Choice:
- Your local independent bookstore (get the bookmark AND the bookplate)
- Amazon (get the bookmark)
- Barnes and Noble (get the bookmark)
Check your Email for an Order Confirmation/Receipt
Forward the Order Confirmation/Receipt along with your Mailing Address to:
That’s really it! Regardless of where you choose to pre-order, if you send in your receipt, you’ll also receive an invitation to the exclusive digital book launch party/reading to take place in early July.
(At this time I can only send bookplates and bookmarks to US addresses, but if you really want them sent internationally, forward your receipt and address anyways, and we’ll discuss what that might look like)
Cool, What the Heck is a Bookplate?
Glad you asked. You can read an entire history of bookplates here, but suffice it to say, it’s a fancy sticker that goes on the inside cover of a book—to show ownership, add value, or just look really cool.
In the era of COVID-19, I’m choosing to offer signed bookplates in lieu of signed copies because we can’t gather for in-person events, and it saves both of us multiple extra rounds of shipping to get signed copies from the printer, to me, to you …
Basically, take your signed bookplate, stick it on the inside of the front cover and … BOOM! Instant signed copy! They’re also awesome stuck to your refrigerator with a magnet, pasted on the outside of your laptop, etc.
Remember, the only way to get one is to order from your local independent bookstore.
And send your order confirmation/receipt to preorder@gregoryjosephs.com. Definitely don’t forget that part.
A Digital Party, you Say?
Every author dreams of in-store book signings and lavish galas to celebrate the release of our latest bits of literary genius. I had a few things in the works, but, alas, a global pandemic happened. That’s okay, because everyone’s health and safety is the top priority. But that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate.
Dates, times, and details will be forthcoming, but you can expect, humor, heart, excerpts, a Q&A, and maybe even a few extra bonuses.
I promise it’ll be worth tuning in. And all you have to do to get your ticket is pre-order and send in your receipt/confirmation.
Sounds like a win-Win-WIN!
I couldn’t agree more. The truth is, selling books is tough even when the world isn’t in the throes of a once-in-a-century pandemic. The new reality we’re all living is causing the book industry to respond with extra creativity. With your help, The Confluence can soar despite the circumstances. I’ll be honestly, eternally grateful for your support.
What’s this Book About, Again?
Parallel timelines, self-identity, friendship, love, ancient gods, the fate of free will itself. And vegetables. Lots of vegetables. Take a look at the Books page to read more, or better yet, follow this link to your local independent bookseller, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Goodreads to see more.
What if I Already Pre-Ordered?
Any pre-orders placed before May 7, 2020 are eligible for the bookmark, bookplate, AND launch party, regardless of where you ordered. Just dig deep into your email, and forward your Order Confirmation/Receipt to preorder@gregoryjosephs.com. You’ll get all the stuff, because you were already awesome.
Thanks a million times over for your support. I couldn’t achieve my writing dreams without you. Questions or comments? Feel free to leave them below.
Thanks as always for reading,
Gregory
